Program
What to expect?
This hands-on masterclass will be delivered in very small group workshops to ensure the highest quality of education. It will equip the student with the necessary skills and knowledge to understand and potentially achieve success even in the most complex cases of bone atrophies. Participants will develop their biological understanding and surgical techniques to guide them during the decision-making process. A lot of emphasis will be posed on the paramount aspect of diagnosis and on the multidisciplinary approach to each case. This masterclass provides the knowledge and fine skills needed to apply Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) techniques with the attention to every minuscule practical detail. This skillset will enable dentists to treat even the most challenging cases with cutting edge technology.

The challenge; team building casepresentations. Biological principles of GBR, indications to GBR and treatmentplanning with limits and possibilities.
10.30–11.00 Coffee break
11.00–12.30 Lecture
GBR in horizontal and vertical defects, differences and similarities. Video demonstrations.
Biomaterials and pre and post-operative surgical protocols.
12.30–13.30 Lunch
13.30–15.30 Lecture
Vertical ridge augmentation step by step, tips and tricks for a successful outcome. Emphasis on the surgical protocol with all the details. Video demonstrations.
15.00–15.30 Preparation for hands on workshop
15.30–17.30 Hands-on workshop on pig-jaws and video demonstration: Vertical ridge augmentation using titanium reinforced non-resorbable membranes, bone graft and mini screw/flapmanagement to achieve tension-free passive mucogingivalflaps/implant placement + vertical bone augmentation

9.30–11.30 Live surgery
GBR case with professional audio-visual set-up.
11.30–12.30 Post surgery commentary
Lecturers will review the important points of the surgery/lively question and answer debate on the live surgery or similar cases.
12.30–13.30 Lunch
13.30–15.00 Lecture
Soft tissue management around implants and post vertical GBR. Re-establishment of the vestibule. Indications for connective tissue grafting and different harvesting techniques.
15.00–15.30 Coffee break
15.30–17.00 Lecture
Complications in GBR. How to avoid them and howto manage them if they occur. Decision tree and cases presented.

Lecturer for the Diploma in ImplantDentistry at The Eastman Dental Institute, UCL, London. MSc in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry from the University of Manchester, UK.
Elected board member of the Osteology Foundation from 2023. Board Member of the EAO (European Academy for Osseointegration) from 2016 to 2022. Chairman of the EAO Junior Committee from 2007 to 2011 and member of the
Experts Council of the Osteology Foundation. Author of several international peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and international speaker on bone regeneration, bone grafting with growth factors, tissue engineering, soft and hard tissue neo-formation with autogenous living cells, osseointegration and implant protocols.
Dr. Isabella Rocchietta currently performs clinical work limited to periodontics and implant dentistry in Milan, Italy and in London, UK.

Chairman of the EAO 2016 Congress and member of the EAO Junior Committee from 2007 to 2011. Reviewer for the French Journal of Periodontology, author of several international peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and international speaker on short implants, bone regeneration and periodontal regeneration.
