SMARTGRAFT REGEDENT

Anorganic Bone Mineral

  • Granules

SMARTGRAFT Granules is a porous bone mineral matrix consisting predominantly of calcium phosphate. It is produced by removal of the organic components from porcine cancellous bone. The product is available in granular form or in an applicator.

Properties/Actions

The anorganic bone matrix of SMARTGRAFT Granules has interconnecting macro- and microscopic porous structure that supports the formation and ingrowth of new bone at the implantation site. The use of SMARTGRAFT Granules may be considered when autogenous bone is not indicated, or insufficient in quantity to fulfill the needs of the proposed surgical procedure.

SMARTGRAFT Granules is indicated for:

  • Augmentation or reconstructive treatment of the alveolar ridge.
  • Filling of infrabony periodontal defects.
  • Filling of defects after root resection, apicoectomy, and cystectomy.
  • Filling of extraction sockets to enhance preservation of the alveolar ridge.
  • Elevation of the maxillary sinus floor.
  • Filling of periodontal defects in conjunction with products intended for Guided Tissue Regeneration (GTR) and Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR).
  • Filling of peri-implant defects in conjunction with products intended for Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR).

SMARTGRAFT

  • Syringe

The delivery applicator is a pre-loaded open barrel syringe with a perforated cap for ease of hydration and placement of SMARTGRAFT.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • Remove the sterile pre-loaded SMARTGRAFT Syringe from packaging and hydrate with osseous coagulum, patient’s blood or sterile normal saline, as follows:
    • with the perforated cap left on the syringe, immerse the tip of the syringe in the fluid;
    • pull up on the plunger to draw the fluid into the syringe;
    • push down on the plunger to expel excess fluid/air;
    • pull and push action should be repeated three times or until the material is fully hydrated.
  • Once hydrated, remove the perforated cap and deliver the hydrated granules to the defect site.

REGENERATION

Native porcine graft provides a human-like structure for balanced remodelling.
The anorganic bone mineral matrix has interconnections that reduce the bulk density of the graft and allows for more void space for the growth of new bones.
As a porcine-derived bone, Smartgraft accelerates alveolar bone healing as compared to Deproteinized Bovine Bone Mineral (DBBM).
The proprietary purification process preserves carbonate apatite, which has been shown to increase the bone forming activities of osteogenic cells and to enhance bioresorption of bone graft by osteoclasts.
The biocompatibility is supported by the proprietary purification process of the graft.

CELL MIGRATION/INFILTRATION

Facilitates vascularization and bone ingrowth.

Smartgraft’s high porosity and large pores enhance vascularization, bone ingrowth and osteointegration of the implant after surgery.
Smartgraft’s macropores range from 0.1mm to 1.0mm.
Native porous carbonate apatite possesses the natural pore structure for cell conduction.

CELL ADHESION

The rough surface of human-like porcine particles facilitates the attachment of new cells.

6 REASONS

TO ADD HYADENT BG TO SMARTGRAFT

  1. Sticky bone can be prepared with this out-of-the box gel and Smartgraft in 3 minutes.
  2. As hydrophilic agent, hyaluronic acid (HA) stabilizes blood clot and attracts growth factors to support and accelerate bone formation.
  3. HA supports angiogenesis.
  4. HA’s high molecular weight reduces swelling and discomfort while supporting scar-less healing.
  5. HA has natural bacteriostatic properties.
  6. HA’s special formulation remains present throughout the various phases of the healing process due to its slow degradation pattern (several weeks).
